Raid groups

On this page

Summary

A raid group is a regular team, such as your Tuesday team. Open Raid Groups to create a team or edit its main and general raiders, then save your changes. Each character has one main group and can join others as a general raider; an individual raid is a separate dated event.

How do I create or edit a raid group?

Your guild can have several raid groups. Each can have its own character prios and an attendance view.

Open your guild's Raid Groups page and choose Create Raid Group. Enter the group name, choose a Discord role if wanted, and press Save.

The Discord Role is only used for color coding. Selecting it does not add people with that role to the group's roster or give them new permissions.

To rename a group or change its role, open Raid Groups, select edit beside the group, make your changes, and press Save. These controls require the relevant raid-management permissions. See Guild settings and permissions.

What are main and general raiders?

Each character can have one main raid group and belong to other groups as a general raider. General membership is also called secondary membership in some parts of TMB.

The main group is the one shown beside the character's name around the site. A general membership does not replace it.

Both main and general members are available when setting that group's prios. Both can also be added by the raid editor's automatic group-roster control.

These memberships belong to the character, not their owner. One member's characters can be on different teams.

How do I change the group's roster?

On Raid Groups, select the group's main raiders or general raiders link. Each opens a separate roster editor.

Move characters between Available and Selected, then press Save. Review the whole Selected list before saving: it becomes that group's roster for the membership type you are editing.

Adding a character as a main raider changes their main group. If they already had another main group, this replaces it. Removing them from this group's main roster leaves them without that main group.

Editing general raiders changes those additional memberships without changing their main group.

You can also change a character's groups from the character editor when your permissions allow it. See Members and characters.

Can I stop members changing their groups?

In Guild → Settings, enable Don't let members set their raid group and save.

This prevents ordinary members changing their characters' main and general memberships. People with permission to edit raids can still change them. Turning the setting off lets members change their own groups again; it does not let them edit other people's characters.

What happens when I archive a group?

Use archive on the Raid Groups page to stop the group appearing in normal group dropdowns. TMB keeps the group and the characters already assigned to it.

Expand Archived raid groups to find it later. Use unarchive to make it available again. These actions require permission.

Archiving a group does not delete its past raids or archive those raids for you.

Where can I see the team's attendance?

Open the group's attendance menu and choose all raiders, main raider, or general raider.

The attendance view compares characters with raids linked to the group. It can also show loot awarded to a character in each raid. Cancelled, ignored-for-attendance, and archived raids are left out of this matrix.

The guild's Attendance decay rate setting controls how far back attendance statistics look. It is a lookback window, not a gradual reduction in credit for each raid. The guild can also hide attendance displays. Those settings do not delete raid records.

See Raids and attendance for recording credit, excuses, and absences, including how archived raids affect the statistics.
