Wishlist and received-loot locks, exceptions, and visibility

Guild leaders can lock list editing in Guild Settings, leave selected wishlists open, or unlock a member's lists. Locks control editing, not who can see a list. If your list is locked and you need a change, contact an officer.
What is the difference between disabled, locked, and private?

A wishlist can be locked and still visible. It can also be private and still editable by its owner.
How do I lock the guild's wishlists?
If you have permission to change guild settings:
- Open Guild → Settings.
- Check Lock wishlists.
- Press Save.
The lock covers all numbered wishlists, including lists that are not the current list. The exceptions below can leave some lists open.
To reopen the guild's wishlists, uncheck Lock wishlists and save. Members can then edit their own lists, as long as wishlists are enabled.

Can I leave one numbered list open?
Yes. Under Lock wishlists, use unlock specific wishlists to choose the numbers you want to leave open. Save your settings.
For example, you can keep list 1 locked while opening list 2. Members can then edit list 2 on their own characters. This applies across the guild, not just to one member or raid group.
An open list does not let members edit someone else's character. It also does not turn on wishlists if the guild has disabled them.
The current wishlist number only chooses the default list shown around the site. Changing it does not lock or unlock a list. See Wishlists for numbered lists.
If you turn off Lock wishlists and save, TMB clears the selected numbered-list exceptions. Choose them again if you later turn the lock back on.
Can I unlock one member's wishlists?
Yes. If you have permission to edit members:
- Open Guild → Members and choose the member.
- Open Edit.
- Check Unlock wishlists.
- Press Save.
This unlock applies to all numbered wishlists on all characters owned by that member. It is not limited to the character you started from.
The Unlock Wishlist / Received Loot link on a character's edit page takes you to this member setting. An unclaimed character has no member to give this exception to. Someone with permission to edit character loot can still edit its lists while wishlists are enabled.
The member unlock stays checked until someone removes it. Opening and relocking the guild's wishlists does not remove it.
To remove the exception, uncheck Unlock wishlists and save. The member then follows the guild's normal rules. If a numbered list is open for everyone, it stays open for that member too.

Which wishlist lock settings take priority?
In these examples, wishlists are enabled and the guild's wishlist lock is on. Sam is editing a character he owns and has no permission to edit other characters' loot.

Someone with permission to edit character loot can edit locked lists without either exception. The guild owner also has that permission. Disabling wishlists prevents wishlist editing even for those people.
How do I lock received loot?
In Guild → Settings, check Lock loot received, then save.
This stops members from manually editing their characters' received-loot lists. People with permission to edit character loot can still edit them.
To make an exception for a member, open their member edit page, check Unlock received loot list, and save. This applies to the received-loot lists of all characters they own.
The exception stays in place until removed. Unchecking it returns the member to the guild's received-loot lock setting.
Received-loot locks are separate from wishlist locks:
- Unlocking wishlists does not unlock received loot.
- Unlocking received loot does not unlock wishlists.
- Opening a numbered wishlist does not unlock received loot.
Who can see a private wishlist?
While wishlists are enabled, a member can see their own characters' wishlists even when the guild limits wishlist visibility. People with permission to view private wishlists can also see them.
Permission to view a list does not give permission to edit it. An unlock lets a member edit their own lists; it does not reveal other people's private lists.
The audit log has separate visibility checks. Being able to see your own private wishlist does not necessarily mean you can see its wishlist changes in the audit log.
Does a lock keep a list exactly as it was?
No. A lock limits manual edits. It does not save a permanent copy of the list.
People with loot-editing permission can still make changes. Recording loot awards can also mark or remove matching wishlist entries, depending on the award options. That can affect locked wishlists too.
The wishlist's Received marker and a received-loot history entry are different things. Each follows the editing rules for the list it belongs to. See Wishlists for that distinction.
These locks do not lock every part of a character's profile. Other changes, such as character details and recipes, follow their own permission rules.
