How to use the audit log to investigate changes
Use the audit log when a wishlist looks different, a loot award seems wrong, or you want to check who changed a setting.
- Open Guild > Audit Log. For a particular raid or loot submission, its History link opens the log with that record already selected.
- Start with the record you are checking. Choose Character for changes to someone's character, or type an item name under Item and select a suggestion. Use Member only when you want actions performed by that person, not everything that happened to their characters.
- Narrow the results if needed. Use Loot Type for wishlist, prio, or received-loot events. Use Min Date and Max Date for when the change was saved. Leave Max Date blank to include today; selecting a date excludes that day.
- Read the message, time, and linked records together. Events appear newest first. Use the page links below the log for older events. System can mean an automatic update caused by someone's action, such as marking a wishlist item received after an award.
- Check nearby events before deciding what happened. One save can create several messages. Clear Loot Type when looking for both a loot award and the wishlist or prio changes it caused. Open the character or item to compare the current record.
For example, to investigate an award given to Sam, filter by Sam's Character. Filtering by Sam under Member would miss an award recorded by an officer.
If nothing appears, remove filters or reopen Guild > Audit Log to start again. Summary messages may not be linked to every affected item or character, and your permissions can hide some events.
The log cannot restore an old list or prove every change. Some messages only summarize a save. Use it to check recorded facts, then ask the people involved about anything the messages do not explain. See audit-log coverage and limits.
To save a copy of the results, follow the audit CSV export instructions. Exports have a row limit and do not necessarily match the page currently on screen.
